2016 Asian Fencing Championship

The 2016 Asian Fencing Championship and Asian-Oceanic Olympic Qualifiers kicked off on April 11 at the Wuxi Sports Center, Jiangsu province.

The competitions host more than 300 fencers from all over the world, including Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Qatar, Malaysia, Japan, Turkmenistan, Singapore, Iraq, Vietnam and Iran.

The Asian-Oceanic Olympic Qualifiers on April 11 and 12 will be the last chance for Asian and Oceania fencers to qualify for the upcoming 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 2016 Asian Fencing Championship from April 13 to 18 will include the categories of men's and women's foils, epee and sabres as well as team competitions. Twenty-five Chinese fencers, eight of whom are from Jiangsu province, will take part in the match.

Tickets are currently available at wepiao.com and at the sports center itself. The prices range from 30 yuan ($4.6) to 80 yuan.

The event will be televised live by IEC in Sports, a branch of the multinational media conglomerate the Lagardère Group across 100 countries and regions. Spectators can also follow the competitions on the official WeChat account "taihulunjian".
