More than 600 players of 40 teams competed fiercely at a dragon boat race held in the Lihu Lake Scenic Area in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on June 14-15.
The participants were mainly from local public institutions, finance associations, and politics and law associations.
After a hard-fought race, the team from Wuxi Branch of Bank of China won the championship and the team from Wuxi Culture & Tourism Development Group took the second place.
The dragon boat race was held to mark the traditional Dragon Boat Festival, which fell on June 18 this year.
The festival falling on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar is to commemorate the famous poet Qu Yuan in China's Warring States Period (475-221 BC).
