Twenty internet celebrities have been invited to go on a tour to various spots featuring Wuxi's development over the last few years, according to the city government on Sept 13.

Wuxi has seen a successful transformation of its economic structure in recent years, especially in the development of strategic industries. Wuxi's GDP exceeded 1 trillion yuan ($159 billion) for the first time in 2017, rising to 1.05 trillion yuan. The city's experience will become the spiritual well from which other centers can draw in implementing China's reform and opening-up policy.

In order to get to know about Wuxi's economic development, reform and opening up, urban and rural construction, cultural construction and ecological environment, the tour will go to the Wuxi branch of CIT-China, Wuxi Studios, Qingming Bridge Historical Scenic Area, Hodo Group, Heilan Group, Shanlian town, Yangshan town and Baita village of Yixing city.

The 20 internet celebrities have been invited to the 2018 World Internet of Things Exposition coming up in Wuxi and to share their thoughts on the city's development through new media.
