The first national graphene quality inspection center was settled in Wuxi's Huishan district on Sept 29, making the district a regional industrial cluster integrating graphene production, research and development, and testing.
Developed by the Wuxi branch of the special equipment safety supervision inspection institute of Jiangsu province, the graphene quality inspection center can inspect for 30 national standard parameters. The center has assisted 20 provinces and cities around the nation.
Wuxi's Huishan district is at the forefront of the development of the graphene industry. In 2013, the national graphene industry demonstration area was built in Huishan district, which was included in the Torch program -- a plan to develop hi-tech industries in China.
Over 50 leading new material enterprises have been attracted to Huishan district, including GMCC, Grahope New Materials and the Chinese work station of Konstantin Novoselov, whose work on graphene with Andre Geim earned them the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010.
