Wuxi recently welcomed the first batch of train passengers from Central China's Hubei province since the novel coronavirus epidemic broke out.
After high-speed train D4321 chartered by Wuxi government arrived at Wuxi Railway Station on March 25, over 700 passengers from Macheng in Hubei province were presented with a gift pack of living supplies, including disinfectant, soap, a towel, an umbrella and toothpaste.
To ensure safety and order, all the passengers were taken directly to their destinations by 20 chartered bus waiting at the exit of the railway station.
They are able to go back to work at over 300 enterprises at once, as they received a health code, a digital certificate issued by health authorities, when leaving Hubei province and a green Wuxi Health QR Code which helps to prove their health status.
"Thank you, Wuxi! We are back," said Ma E'fei from Sanhekou town in Macheng, who was excited to return to Wuxi with her husband and five-year-old son after two months.
When seeing these passengers off, Feng Xiang, deputy Party secretary of Macheng, expressed his gratitude to the Wuxi government for its efforts to bring these workers back to work.
