Wuxi Museum in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, opened a three-month horse-themed exhibition on Feb 10 to herald the upcoming Year of the Horse.
In partnership with Xianyang Museum in Shaanxi province, this exhibition presents 59 horse-themed cultural relics, including national treasures like the horse-hoof gold ingots from the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24) and a glazed pottery cavalry warrior figurine from the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

The exhibition is divided into three chapters: It begins by exploring the horse's role in daily life, transitions to its majestic presence on the battlefield, and culminates in its influence as a source of artistic inspiration.
Designed to provide an immersive experience, the exhibition features interactive Chinese New Year scenes and showcases Wuxi's intangible cultural heritage, including Huishan clay figurines, Yixing zisha (purple clay) pottery, and other items. Visitors can participate in a variety of workshops and collect distinctive themed souvenirs, enhancing their cultural exploration.
