As the national two sessions approach, five deputies to the National People's Congress from Wuxi, Jiangsu province, set off for Beijing on March 2 to attend the meetings.
The two sessions are the annual meetings of China's top legislative and political advisory bodies, opening on March 5 and 4, respectively, this year.
The deputies emphasized that this year marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30). Attending the sessions at this pivotal moment carries significant responsibility. They are committed to engaging with the conference's agenda, focusing on key issues affecting Wuxi, Jiangsu, and the entire nation.
Before the meeting, the Wuxi NPC deputies engaged deeply with local communities, gathering firsthand insights and converting their research into meaningful contributions.
During the sessions, the deputies plan to submit suggestions primarily aimed at promoting industrial development, strengthening regional collaboration, and improving public welfare.
For instance, Deputy Sun Huaqin has prepared five suggestions focused on the development of the integrated circuit industry, digital security, and judicial credibility. Deputy He Guanghua has prepared eight suggestions on the integration of electricity and industry, regional collaborative development, and leveraging technology to benefit the public.
Deputy Ouyang Hua suggests accelerating the development of distinctive rural cultural brands and increasing support for the deep processing of specialty agricultural products. He believes this will improve the livelihoods of rural residents, ensuring steady, sustainable progress toward common prosperity.
Additionally, six members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from Wuxi have also departed for the sessions. They plan to submit well-prepared proposals that promote industrial development, foster technological innovation, and enhance public welfare.
