Wuxi has opened a direct passenger route linking Wuxi Shuofang Airport with Udon Thani, Thailand, marking the first scheduled nonstop connection between the two destinations and boosting tourism and economic exchanges.
Situated in the heart of Thailand's northeastern Isan region near the Lao border, Udon Thani is an emerging travel destination. The city is home to the scenic Red Lotus Lake, where vast stretches of pink lotus flowers bloom seasonally, as well as rich historical heritage that appeals to cultural explorers, photographers, and slow travelers.
Thanks to the nearby First Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge, travelers can reach Vientiane in about 1.5 hours from Udon Thani. Udon Thani Airport also offers frequent one-hour connections to Bangkok.
