The Wuxi Book Fair is set to debut from July 2 to 6, marking the city's first summer vacation-themed book market.
On July 4, from 4 pm to 9:30 pm, Wuxi will host its inaugural outdoor summer book market in the scenic lakeside area of MixC shopping mall by Lihu Lake. Alongside the bookstores participating in the carnival, renowned brands and independent bookstores such as Dazhong Bookstore, Tsutaya Books, and Minerva Bookstore will set up stalls, offering curated selections of books and cultural products.
Simultaneously, the 2026 Wuxi "Zhongshu · Reading" Summer Vacation Book Carnival is scheduled to commence. A total of 12 physical bookstores across the city will introduce an array of reading promotions and book sale events, designed to engage the community throughout the vacation period.
For instance, Wuxi Xinhua Bookstore will host interactive sessions featuring the creators of Wo Shi Bu Bai Chi, an animated food short film, along with the teams from Detective Mike Fox, a children's science detective book series, and the Mi Wu Science Show.
During the book carnival, these 12 bookstores will offer a variety of benefits, including discounts of up to 20 percent on all books, special deals on bestsellers, and up to 30 percent off on cultural products.
