The 2026 Jiangsu Basketball City League regular season is set to begin on Sept 4 and run through Nov 28, ushering in a new era for grassroots basketball in the province.
Thirteen teams, representing each of Jiangsu's prefecture-level cities, will compete over nearly three months in 13 rounds, offering basketball enthusiasts 78 regular-season games across the province.
Games are scheduled primarily on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with all matchups tipping off at 7:30 pm.
The regular season follows a single-round-robin format, where each of the 13 teams faces every other team exactly once.
The schedule is designed to maintain competitive balance, with each team playing six home and six away games. Home and away fixtures alternate throughout the season, ensuring no team plays consecutive home or away games.
The season's climax comes in the final round, where all six games will start simultaneously at 7:30 pm on the same day, creating a high-stakes finale with every result impacting playoff standings.
With city-based team representation, a weekend home-and-away schedule, and a professionally crafted competitive framework, the city league aims to integrate basketball into the daily lives of communities across Jiangsu.
