A half marathon is set to take place in Yangshan town, Huishan district, Wuxi, Jiangsu province on April 1, local officials announced at a news briefing on March 21.
The event held for the second time in Yangshan has grown in size this year. It includes a half marathon spanning for 21.1 kilometers with 3,000 runners and a five kilometers mini-marathon with 2,000 runners.
The routes are designed at the core area of Yangshan Ecological Tourism Resort. Runners will be able to enjoy beautiful landscape while running, as they will pass by five characteristic villages, notably, one featuring acres of pink peach forest.
The Yangshan Half Marathon forms part of this year's Yangshan Peach Flower Festival. An abundance of activities including tree planting, online interactive activities, orienteering, photographic competition, equestrian competition, and peach flower appreciation, will be organized during the festival, to expose the beauty and charm of Yangshan to more people.
