Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province was listed in the top 20 Chinese smart cities during the 2019 Smart China Annual Meeting in Beijing recently.
The research for the list started in July, evaluating the construction of smart cities, business environment, digitization and environmental protection in 108 cities. The first-level index includes smart foundation, smart governance, smart people's livelihoods, digital economies and innovation environment.
Wuxi was also given the innovation environment award for smart city construction. It was the eighth time the city had won the award thanks to the government's long-term support in promoting services for businesses and innovation.
Wuxi has made great efforts in smart governance and smart industries. An intelligent supervision service platform of all-for-one tourism was launched this September, providing one-stop services to tourists during the National Day holiday.
The Wuxi government said a series of plans for smart city construction will be launched next year.
