Fifty-eight Wuxi-based enterprises were featured on various 2020 top 500 Chinese enterprise lists, more than any other city in Jiangsu province.
The lists were published by the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) and China Enterprise Directors Association at the 2020 China Top 500 Enterprises Summit held in Zhengzhou, Henan province from Sept 27-28.
Wuxi had 14 enterprises listed among the overall top 500 Chinese enterprises, accounting for 31.1 percent of the provincial total; 26 among the top 500 Chinese enterprises in the manufacturing industry, accounting for 47.3 percent of the provincial total; and 18 among the top 500 Chinese enterprises in the service industry, accounting for 40.9 percent of the provincial total.
Enterprises in this year's Top 500 Enterprises in China had to register annual operating revenue of at least 35.96 billion yuan ($5.27 billion), higher than last year's figure of 32.32 billion yuan.
Heilan Group, a textile and garment company, recorded operating revenue of 123 billion yuan ($18 billion), putting it 174th among the overall top 500 Chinese enterprises and first among Wuxi enterprises.
