Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province recently announced a list of 1,576 newly recognized "young eagle enterprises", "gazelle enterprises" and "future unicorn enterprises" in 2021.
Statistics show that more than half of newly recognized enterprises are from the high-end software, energy saving and environmental protection, and integrated circuit industries.
Presently, the total numbers of "young eagle enterprises", "gazelle enterprises" and "future unicorn enterprises" in Wuxi stand at 2,981, 1,676, and 144 respectively. Officials said that these companies are becoming a new force in driving science and technology innovation in Wuxi.
Jiangsu SPrC Technology Co is a new "young eagle enterprise" in Wuxi. Established in 2020, the young IC company focuses on the development of power management chips that power things such as big data center servers, 5G base stations, and artificial intelligence devices.
Surprisingly, this year, about 30 percent of new "gazelle enterprises" are working on environmental protection, followed by high-end software firms.
Officials from the local science and technology bureau said that the manufacturing industry has been keenly focused on environmental protection and this has in turn brought prosperity to the market.
Jiangsu Feili Group has been committed to the research and development of sewage treatment and water body restoration equipment for more than 20 years. The company's head said that the company's self-developed equipment for sewage treatment is more energy-efficient and boasts lower carbon emissions compared with similar products in the market.
