Wuxi's traditional folk music lingers in the air of France

The "Chanson of Silk and Bamboo—East Sounds from Wuxi" concert took place at the National Museum of Asian Arts Guimet, or Guimet Museum, in Paris on May 22.

Presented by the Wuxi Chinese Orchestra, Wuxi Symphony Orchestra and Wuxi Song and Dance Drama Theater, the concert featured four chapters highlighting the beauty of Taihu Lake, spring in Jiangnan, spring scenery, and Wuxi landscapes.

French singer Julian Sorel was also invited to perform Spring from The Four Seasons with the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra. Sorel recomposed The Four Seasons, blending ancient Chinese poems and the 24 solar terms into the concertos.

After the concert, many foreign audiences expressed their love for traditional Chinese music. "The performance was very wonderful." "I've never been to Wuxi, but I'd really love to visit the city."
