The resumption of direct flight and launch of shipping services between Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province and Sihanoukville City in Cambodia on May 18 represent better connectivity between the two regions.
Sunan Ruili Airlines operates a direct flight service every Sunday. The outbound flight is scheduled to depart at 7:05 Beijing time, arriving in Sihanoukville at 10:40 local time. The return flight is set to leave at 11:30 local time and is expected to reach Wuxi at 16:45 Beijing time. The duration of each one-way flight is approximately 4.5 hours.
Following the resumption of flights, the travel time between Wuxi and Sihanoukville will be reduced from two days to 4.5 hours. This improvement will enhance accessibility for ordinary passengers and further encourage trade and cultural exchanges between the two regions.

The direct shipping route between Wuxi (Jiangyin) Port and Sihanoukville Port is expected to shorten transportation time to seven to 10 days. Reducing transfers can also save 20 percent to 30 percent of port operation costs.
Its successful opening adds new impetus to Wuxi (Jiangyin) Port's goal of becoming a strong port capable of handling 1 million twenty-foot equivalent units per year. The Wuxi (Jiangyin) Port has established navigation relationships with over 600 ports in more than 200 countries and regions.
In 2009, Wuxi and Sihanoukville officially became sister cities. The Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, jointly built by a Wuxi enterprise with Cambodia, is the only national-level economic and trade cooperation zone recognized by both governments, serving as a cooperation model between China and Cambodia under the Belt and Road Initiative.
