The Wuxi Symphony Orchestra in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, has recently revealed the schedule for its 2025-26 music season, including 20 concerts, eight chamber music concerts, and collaborations with over 30 top artists from China and other countries.
The season will celebrate Beethoven's 255th birthday by performing his complete symphonies, which will be recorded and released as an album, including the famous Symphony No 5 and Symphony No 9.
In addition, it will explore global music, with programs on French, Nordic, and American music, featuring works by Hector Louis Berlioz, Edvard Hagerup Grieg, and more.
The special series of this season includes a symphonic drama of Romeo and Juliet, The Evergreen Little Poplar, and a Hong Kong film music concert.
Moreover, Madama Butterfly and A Dream of Red Mansions (both in concert form) will be staged separately on April 17 and Jan 17 in 2026. Also, The Pride of the Wuxi Symphony will treat audiences to a grand epic of peace and harmony in the language of symphony.
Notably, the Wuxi Symphony Hall, the most eye-catching piece of architecture in the city, will open with a New Year's concert by the orchestra on Jan 1, 2026.
