Helyu relics, built in 514 BC, are a valuable part of Wuxi's history and culture. They represent the site of King Helyu's Kingdom of Wu, which was the capital during the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC).

The museum's architectural style resembles a phoenix emerging from its shell, symbolizing the arrival of nirvana for a 2,500-year-old Helyu city reborn into its past glory.

The museum serves as a venue for heritage exhibitions, archaeological research, science education, and entertainment. It features an exhibition area within the main building and a Wu culture communication and research center in the adjacent building.

The exhibition zone features cultural relics, 3D cinema, and a multimedia hall. It reveals the journey of discovering Helyu Relics and highlights the human and cultural spirit through stories of King Helyu, covering his governance, honesty, close ties with citizens, and his principles of appointing officials based on virtue and ability. The research center serves as an institute dedicated to studying and promoting Wu culture.
