Wuxi's new energy industry started early, boasting a solid foundation, with its comprehensive development ranking among the top nationally. The industry in Wuxi covers a wide range of fields, distributed across advantageous sectors like photovoltaics and wind power, future sectors like hydrogen energy and energy storage, as well as other areas like nuclear power and biomass energy.

A number of enterprises have emerged as key players in the industrial chain, such as Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment and Shuangliang Group. Public platform resources for R&D, testing and certification, circulation services, and enterprise R&D, such as the Yangtze Institute for Solar Technology, are increasingly abundant.

For the new energy industry, Wuxi will further consolidate the advantages of its new energy industry cluster, cultivate enterprises and brands with global competitiveness, and strive to build "Three Bases, Three Zones, and Three Centers", namely, an internationally influential new energy industry headquarters base, a high-end components and complete machine product manufacturing base, an advanced equipment manufacturing base; a national-leading demonstration zone for intensive development of the new energy industry, a new application demonstration zone, a product full-lifecycle management demonstration zone; a national photovoltaic technology innovation and testing certification center, a hydrogen energy industry innovation development center, and an advanced energy storage industry ecosystem center.
