As a master's student at Wuxi's Jiangnan University, I feel proud to witness the vibrant energy of the Wuxi Marathon on March 22 in this beautiful city.

The event is not just a race but a celebration of health, culture, and community spirit. Every year, thousands of runners from different parts of the world gather here, bringing life and excitement to Wuxi's scenic routes, especially during the blooming spring.

The marathon reflects the city's modern development along with its natural beauty, creating a unique experience for both participants and spectators. Being part of Wuxi, I see this event as a symbol of unity, determination, and international connection, which truly represents the dynamic and welcoming nature of this city.

My own connection to Wuxi goes beyond such events.

My first impression of Wuxi was that it is a clean, modern, and well-organized city with a perfect balance between urban development and natural beauty. The greenery, lakes, and peaceful environment stood out immediately. Over time, this impression has only deepened — I have come to appreciate not only its infrastructure but also its cultural richness and livability.

Of course, settling into a new place also came with challenges. Initially, the main challenges were language barriers and adapting to a new academic and social environment. Daily communication and understanding local systems required effort. I addressed these challenges by learning basic Chinese, using translation tools, and actively engaging with local students and international peers. Support from the university and fellow students also played a crucial role in helping me settle in smoothly.

Now, what I enjoy most is the safe, comfortable living environment, the advanced academic facilities and the opportunity to experience Chinese culture firsthand. The city offers a calm atmosphere ideal for focused study, along with beautiful places to relax. The balance between academic life and personal well-being in the city is excellent.

A perfect example of this can be experienced during sunset at Taihu Lake. The peaceful scenery, combined with the cultural atmosphere, created a moment of reflection and gratitude. It reminded me how studying abroad is not only about education but also about personal growth, cultural exchange, and building a global perspective.
