The 18th China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF) Wuxi parallel session kicked off at Wuxi Grand Theater on the night of Oct 19th, Wuxi Daily reported.
As the first city to hold the CSIAF parallel session in 2012, Wuxi has held the event for four consecutive years. This year's session will last for around 15 days, and will present a range of arts featuring different cultures and multiple genres for the audience. A total of 111 various cultural activities including classic drama performances, arts exhibitions and arts fairs will be held.
The whole event will follow the principles of introducing elegant stage productions, facilitating the development of local arts and showcasing cultural classics.
After the opening ceremony, the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the top orchestras in the Arab world, presented the audience with a special night full of high quality performances.
Other performances included a concert by the British Trinity Boys Choir, a performance of Ruan Lingyu by the Hong Kong Perry Chiu Experimental Theatre, a performance of Divine Comedy by Italian No Gravity Dance Company, and a concert by the British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
