A third of the streets and housing estates in Xinwu district of Wuxi, Jiangsu province had installed improved lighting systems as of the end of 2016, making the daily lives of local residents more convenient.
All street lamps in the district have had LED bulbs installed, which are integrated with internet of things (IoT) technology to allow the lights to automatically adjust their brightness according to the surrounding environmental conditions, such as the level of light and humidity.
According to a Xinwu district's integrated administrative enforcement bureau, the new system will automatically make the light softer and more suitable for driving.
The operating conditions of each lamp will be displayed on the screens of the Management Center's control system, making it more convenient for staff to spot any problems and take appropriate action in the case of an emergency.
According to preliminary statistics, 89 streets and 28 housing estates in Xinwu district have had the new lighting systems installed so far.
In the new year, Xinwu District will make Hongshan IoT town an experimental unit for intelligent street lights, which will be an integrated manufacturing base for lamp inductors, 5G antennae and charging pile for new energy cars.
