Ten measures to improve citizen livelihood in 2017

6. Revive agricultural markets

Set up a new agricultural market and renovate a further five. Improve the conditions of 120 of the city's agricultural markets. Develop an online network documenting the food quality of the city's agricultural markets.

7. Medical development and elderly care

Put Wuxi No.5 People's Hospital into operation and accelerate the construction of the new Wuxi No.4 Hospital. Build 34 health and medical institutions that offer traditional Chinese medical treatments. Launch 12 sub-district elderly care centers and add 2,000 beds.

8. Upgrade infrastructure

Complete the replacement of 60 kilometers of old water pipes. Refit 4,000 residency water meters and add 50,000 natural gas residential users.

9. Cultural services

Launch a new youth art center and establish a reading association with a further 50 reading spaces spread across the city. Complete construction of more than 150 multifunctional cultural service centers.

10. Education

Build 30 kindergartens and expand 5 previously existing ones. Build 24 schools of compulsory education and expand 22 old ones.

If the plans released are anything to go by, Wuxi residents have a wide range of reasons to be excited about the coming year.
