Qianbu Corridor was built in 1927 in Wuxi's Liyuan Garden and stretches 289 meters. It faces toward Taihu Lake, which makes it the best place to admire the lotus flowers during the annual Lihu Lotus Festival from June to August. Qianbu, which means a thousand steps, is so named because it is said a person can walk the whole length of the corridor in a thousand steps. If you don't believe it, have a try by yourself when you visit it next time. [Photo provided to China Daily] |
