The 2017 ITTF-Asian Table Tennis Championship is coming this Sunday to the Wuxi Sports Center and runs from Apr 9 to Apr 16.
Zhang Jike, a Qingdao-born table tennis athlete, will compete in the men's single and team competitions during the event. Zhang said yesterday that he is motivated to win his matches despite a troubling ankle injury.
"As athletes, we are more likely to get hurt. It's hard to test how much I have recovered in daily training unless there is a real match, as I will try my best to win." said Zhang.
The championship is the highest-level table tennis tournament among Asian countries, and will be the most important competition for Chinese Table Tennis Team since the Rio Olympics.
