Three Wuxi towns claim provincial tourism reputation

Three towns in Wuxi have been included in Jiangsu province's first batch of 13 "distinctive tourism towns" announced at the Meeting of Jiangsu Tourism Work and Promotion of the Construction of Distinctive Tourist Towns on April 23.

The distinctive tourism towns program is designed to recognize the excellent work done by several regions in Jiangsu in upgrading their tourist facilities and branding their region as an attractive tourist destination. The program will also give these towns more opportunities to access funding to continue this work.

Here are the details of the three Wuxi towns to receive the honor:

Nianhuawan

In the center of the Yangtze River Delta, Nianhuawan, a town in Lingshan Mountain in Wuxi, has a planning area of 1,600 mu (264 acres) and a construction area of about 350,000 square meters.

Chan Buddhism, a Chinese strain of Buddhism that is similar to Japanese Zen Buddhism, is what the town is most famous for.

Lingshan Mountain has been identified as a permanent venue for the World Buddhist Forum, showing the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture around the world, and will be created as a world-class Chan travel destination.
