Having gloriously retired in February, it seems Qin Jiacai, a 16 year veteran of Wuxi's traffic police and something of a local legend, finds it hard to sit idle as he donned his hat and pearly white gloves to work as a hospital security guard in late May.
For Wuxi residents familiar with the sight of Qin's calm guiding movements and toothy smile it came as something of a surprise to see his stalwart frame working a quiet avenue beside Wuxi People's Hospital – certainly a drastic change from his days stood on the bustling downtown intersection of Zhongshan Road and Jiefang South Road.
Qin's retirement three months ago caused quite a buzz among the local social media and his retirement ceremony was even live streamed on Wuxi Radio's WeChat account and found its way onto local TV.
