A wonton restaurant in Wuxi's Liangxi district is warming the hearts and bellies of local elderly residents by encouraging customers to buy extra bowls of wontons for those in need.
The Warm Home Taste restaurant opened in Lixinlu community on Aug 9.
Unlike most new eateries, it did not offer customers a two-for-the-price-of-one deal. Instead, it asked diners to pay double the normal price for a bowl of wontons, so that an elderly person could have a free bowl.
Lixinlu community has more than 4,000 residents, 44 percent of which are elderly. Many of the community's senior residents have low incomes.
