Wuxi doctors set out for Cambodia on aid mission

Three health workers from Wuxi People's Hospital began a six-month mission to the community health care center in Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) in southern Cambodia on Sept 15.

The mission is the latest of several aid projects the hospital has taken part in, following this June's mission to Zanzibar.

The three volunteers heading for Sihanoukville are Guo Jian from the department of gynaecology and obstetrics, Cao Hui from the department of gastrology and Yu Lei from the hospital's clinical laboratory. Their specialties correspond to the strains of diseases common in SSEZ.

Wuxi is also providing support to SSEZ's health system through several other projects.

SSEZ's healthcare center was established thanks to support from Wuxi's health and family planning commission, as well as the Provincial Health Department of Sihanoukville and companies inside SSEZ.
