Local residents flocked to Liyuan Garden in Wuxi on Sept 20 to feast their eyes on the garden’s hundreds of thousands of sunflowers, which recently came into bloom.
This year’s sunflower exhibition, which runs for one month, is one of the garden’s largest ever, with 100,000 flowers spread over 5,000 square meters.
Several exotic varieties are also making their debut at the exhibition this year, including lefantian, a variety whose irregularly arranged petals give it a particularly sunny air, black swan, with its black stamens, and red lemon, with red petals around a yellow center.
