An unveiling ceremony and investment conference was held for Jiulong Bay Festoon Town, a new tourist resort designed to combine flower exhibitions with a variety of other attractions in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Sept 28.
The park will be built on a 2,100-acre plot in Wuxi's Binhu district, and is designed to contain a flower park as well as supporting facilities including a playground, wedding venue, homestay-style hotels and a shopping area.
The park's ecological garden will mainly house perennial plants, which can help reduce the costs associated with growing annual plants.
Edible plants and flowers, special fruit and herbal plants will also be grown in the Festoon Town's traditional agricultural demonstration garden.
The famous Chinese director Zhang Jizhong has already announced that he will use Festoon Town as a shooting location for one of his new movies, which will help generate publicity for the park.
Wuxi also plans to promote Festoon Town at the China Tourism Destination Development Conference in October.
