A total of 50 pieces by Yu Guoqin, a nationally renowned porcelain maker from Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, the "porcelain capital" of China, were bought by one buyer for an estimated 5 million yuan, the biggest order made at this year's fair.

Some 110 Wuxi expats including workers and students also visited the fair, experiencing the distinctive rice wine, clay figurines and Xi Opera. Some even tried their hands at making traditional clay teapots themselves.

Since 2011, the city of Wuxi has hosted six consecutive cultural fairs attracting more than 680,000 visitors in total.

The event's profile has continued to grow, with the China Convention, Exhibition and Event Society naming the Wuxi fair among China's top ten exhibition brands in 2016.
