Thousands of citizens took part in the event to watch the orderly police squares and have the chance to check out police equipment.
The police introduced various special vehicles, criminal investigation and fire-fighting equipment as well as fire-fighting methods. They also invited volunteers to drunk-driving simulations to increase people's awareness of safe driving.

"The event makes sense because we were able to learn more about fire-fighting equipment and were given useful safety instructions," said Zhang Lijun, who applied for the event with her child through WeChat.
Gui Mingqiang, vice director of the Wuxi Police Politics Department, said “The open-day event not only connected the police to citizens, but also provided a platform for parent-child interaction.”
"We will make the open day an annual event and add other interesting activities to make it more meaningful and instructive," Gui added.
