A welcome ceremony for Boston International School (BIS) was held in Wuxi New District, Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Jan 5.
Boston International School has been built to provide world-class international education for children of foreigners as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan compatriots, with the support of Wuxi government and St Joseph High School of Connecticut, the United States.
Located in Wuxi New District, Boston International School covers an area of 86,218 square meters to accommodate 1,800 students. It plans to open during the 2017-2018 school year and enroll students aged between 18 months to 18 years old (pre-kindergarten to grade 12).
According to the head of Wuxi New District, Feng Xiaochun, the school marks a great step in the development of the city's international education system. " It will wipe out the concern about education of the children of returned overseas Chinese talents and foreigners who work, start up businesses, and live in Wuxi and its surrounding areas," Feng said.
He added that Wuxi New District would make efforts to support the development of Boston International School and provide children with a healthy and happy learning environment.
