The Wuxi Library has cooperated with history museums, shopping malls, cafes and other private stores to provide locals with more reading opportunities. Moreover, a 24-hour autonomous library has also opened, where readers can borrow books with an electronic ID.
Garden Libraries
The second floor inside the Former Residence of Xue Fucheng has become one of the city’s garden libraries, comprising about 4,000 volumes in history, art, and natural science.
The Wuxi Library will also continue to build the garden library in Donglin Academy. Residents will be able to coordinate book loans and returns with their library card in 19 reading spots.

Night Libraries
The fifth floor of Jingdong Plaza will provide 24-hour autonomous library service from the end of Jan, which will be the first night library outside the Wuxi Library itself.
Covering an area of 400 square meters, the night library will comprise about 5,000 volumes and will allow readers to borrow and return books on their own at any time.
Apart from entering with a Wuxi library card, readers will be able to use an electronic card to access Alipay or the library's official WeChat account.
The library will build more 24-hour autonomous libraries to provide service at any time.
"We will use more Internet technologies to allow citizens to enjoy reading everywhere and at all times in the city," said Qian Feifei, the library's director.
