Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province will hold a competition for technology innovation enterprises in June, a news conference announced on May 7.
Sun Haidong, director of Wuxi Science and Technology Bureau, said the competition would play a part in promoting and supporting the innovation of science and technology in small and medium sized enterprises.
The competition will be divided into three groups, focusing on universities at home and abroad and innovative enterprises with potential for growth, covering six industries including electronic information, internet, advanced manufacturing, new materials, bio-medicine, new energy and energy conservation and environmental protection.
The winner will be rewarded with a cash prize, and offered government assistance and financial funds for further development.
The Wuxi government will also launch a project to support the development of unicorn companies after the competition, concentrating government, industry, capital and talent to fully boost the development of leading enterprises in high-tech industries.
