Over 2,000 yoga enthusiasts attended an event in Gonghuwan Wetland Park, Wuxi, June 16, to celebrate this year's International Day of Yoga.
In 2014, the United Nations declared June 21 the International Day of Yoga, held to honor the ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice originating in India more than 5,000 years ago.

The theme for 2018 is Yoga for Peace. Under the guidance of three Indian yoga masters, enthusiasts and practitioners from all around the world enjoyed an hour of deep breathing and relaxation beside Taihu Lake.
With the aim of promoting the practice and culture of yoga in China, Anil Kumar Rai, consul general of India in Shanghai, joined in the event. With an estimated 100,000 yoga fans in Wuxi, the city's links to India are growing stronger.
