BMF Material, a Shenzhen-based leading advanced manufacturing company, inked a deal to carry out a high-precision additive manufacturing project and build a state-level precision additive innovation research institute and an industrial base of 3D printing in Wuxi's Xishan district on June 20.
Focusing on micro/nano-scale 3D printing technology and disruptive precision manufacturing, the company will invest a total of 500 million yuan ($76.9 million) in Wuxi to build no less than four production lines. The annual output after mass production is expected to exceed one billion yuan.
"It only took three months for the project to progress from the negotiation stage to formally signing an agreement," said Huang Qin, acting mayor of Wuxi, "The market for 3D printing has lots of potential. Wuxi is upping its efforts to actively develop the 3D printing industry. It is expected that the new technologies developed by BMF Material will be widely applied to Wuxi's medical industry and other fields."
"The Wuxi government will provide a full range of services for the smooth progress of the project. It is hoped that the company will attract more highly-skilled workers and technologies to Wuxi and continue to progress in the field of precision additives." Huang added.

He Xiaoning, president of BMF Material, said that Wuxi's integrated circuits and precision casting industries can act as a springboard for the development of the project.
"Based in Wuxi with an international outlook, our company will continue to boost technological innovation and drive the advancement of relevant industries, as well as strive to progress global precision manufacturing technology in order to help the industrial development of Wuxi." He said.
The micro/nano-scale 3D printing technology was listed in "10 Breakthrough Technologies" released by MIT Technology Review in 2015. BMF Material is the only Chinese team among the leading four teams worldwide.
