The city of Sagamihara, Japan, officially established its sister city friendship with Wuxi on October 6, 1985.
Located in the northwestern of Kanagawa and 40 kilometers away from the Tokyo region, Sagamihara covers an area of 244.03 square kilometers and a population of 700,000, which is the 3rd largest city in Kanagawa, after Yokohama and Kawasaki and the 17th largest city in Japan.
