The Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University, a combination and upgrading of the former Wuxi No 3 Hospital and Wuxi No 4 Hospital, is expected to go into operation at the end of 2019.
The hospital is divided into southern and northern parts, with the former Wuxi No 4 Hospital the northern part. The 1,500-bed southern part of the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University is located east of Lihu Road and north of Hefeng. Shuttle buses will connect the two parts.
Hua Dong, director of the hospital, said the new facility will mainly develop oncology, digestology and traumatology and develop into a research-oriented comprehensive hospital integrating clinical, teaching and scientific research.
The hospital has decided to use 1-2 percent of its annual revenue for technological innovation and talent cultivation. It will not only attract hi-end medical talents from home and abroad but also train local doctors.
