The water quality improvement project carried out on Bodu River, in Wuxi's Xinwu district, since last August is bearing fruit.

The first phase of the Bodu River landscape engineering project covers 895,500 square meters and runs for 3,640 meters, and will include a 1.5-km walking path.

Marigolds, torch flowers, cherry trees, and metasequoia forests have been planted on the 10-meter-wide green belt along the river in Fangyu Road. With a sculpture of an egret leaning over the water, visitors can follow the walking path to Lotus Bridge, near the midpoint of the river bank, while enjoying the beautiful natural scenery.

The first phase of the project will feature large grassy fields with cherry trees and will display different views in different seasons. It is expected to open to the public next month.

According to officials of the Housing and Urban-rural Construction Bureau of Xinwu District, a road network connecting Fangtai, Fangyu, Xinming and Xixing roads and more will also be formed along the river.

In addition, a parking lot will be set up near Bodu River Landscape Park. Visitors are also encouraged to get there on public transport.
