Wuxi will work to bolster agricultural production and continue to promote both poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, as it aims to lead development of agriculture and rural areas in Jiangsu province, Wuxi Party Secretary Huang Qin noted during his visit to rural areas in Jiangyin city and Wuxi's Xishan district on May 26.
Located in Yangjian town, Xishan district, the Xianfeng Family Farm has applied internet of things technology to develop plants which are able to make full use of artificial light. Many advanced technologies help to increase their income.
Local residents in Tancun Community, Anzhen sub-district spoke highly of the reconstruction project on their houses being carried by the local government, which has brought with it great improvements to their living environment.

Jiangsu (Jiangyin) Modern Agriculture (Rice and Wheat) Technology Demonstration Base is a good example of how to integrate modern technologies into agriculture development. The base is testing out new varieties of high-quality, high-yield rice and wheat and developing new forms of mechanization.
Shishanhu town in Jiangyin's Nanzha sub-district attracted over 150,000 visitors last year. The area used to be nothing more than a deserted traditional quarry. Taking advantage of its unique natural and human resources, the town has developed leisure agriculture and rural tourism industries, which provide over 100 jobs for locals.
As China is in the final push to achieve its target of poverty eradication and realize its first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects in 2020, Huang urged all related departments to give full support to rural development.
