Rodrigo Manga recently sent a short video to Wuxi after he was elected as the new mayor of Sorocaba, Brazil in January.
Manga will work as the city's mayor for the next four years. He said that he will continue to promote communication and exchanges between Sorocaba and Wuxi in economy, education, sports, culture and technology, as well as science parks.
With a population of 578,000 and favorable social infrastructure, Sorocaba is the third largest city in São Paulo, as well as a major industrial city and the fourth most developed city in the state.
The city's pillar industries include electronics, communications, auto parts, and metal machinery. It is also home to the country's textile industry, as well as one of the top 10 cities in Brazil in terms of foreign investment attraction.
Sorocaba became a sister city of Wuxi on Oct 18, 2010.
